Agricultural applications
With many years of experience in the agricultural sector, Polytec offers an optimized system solution for analytical measurements and enables farmers and seed producers to carry out process-optimized quality control of seeds.
With Polytec’s near-infrared spectrometers, it’s possible for seed manufacturers and grain producers to carry out grain quality testing quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively and to determine various quality-relevant parameters simultaneously. In addition, the system is delivered ready for use and can be operated stationary in the laboratory as well as mobile on the harvesting machine.
Use of the PAS spectrometers directly on the harvesting vehicle
Polytec’s flexible PAS spectrometers, optimized for direct use in the harvester, enable real-time analysis of unprocessed seeds directly in the field. The essential parameters for processing, such as moisture, starch, and protein content, are displayed on a monitor directly in the driver’s cabin. This allows the driver to react quickly to deviations and keep an eye on the analysis results when harvesting different fields and seeds. In addition, the generated data is automatically documented and transmitted in real time to the central data system for further processing.
Due to its small diameter and compact design, the measuring head can be easily integrated into the vehicle, and the spectrometer can be safely accommodated in the driver’s cabin to save space.
